Well, good news for me anyway.
When I started working at Olive Garden about 2 months ago, I was hired on as a server. Well, you see, I've never been the type to be content knowing one aspect of my job, and no others. So shortly after I started, I talked to management about being cross trained in to-gos. It just so happened that only a couple of days prior, one of our full time bartenders had just put in his notice. So management asked if I had any interest in that. Uh, yes please!!
So 5 weeks later, I am now a full time bartender, training another server to be a bartender! Yay!
I seriously love my job.

Happy 15 months, baby boy!
Time goes by so quickly! I'm really loving the stage he's in right now though! Sure, he has a pretty serious attitude at times, and it can be challenging to manage, but most of the time he's just the sweetest boy!
Thanks Katie for the idea!

This is why we have kids... right?
The other morning, Torin got the remote before I noticed it was on the floor. He ran off with it, relocating it from the living room to the kitchen.
After breakfast, Jonathan sat down on the couch, with the intention of turning on Mickey Mouse for Torin to watch, but obviously didn't realize the remote was in the kitchen. Jonathan said "Torin, can you bring Daddy the remote?" Torin looked all around the living room floor, looking for the remote. "Torin, you left it in the kitchen, can you go get it for Daddy?" Torin turned his head in the direction of the kitchen. He stood there for about 5 seconds before he ran happily into the kitchen and returned with the remote control!
Oh and he also brings me my shoes when I ask him for them. {Usually a matching pair, too!}

Are you mom enough?
Somehow I'm late to this party, but I'm totally joining in! Better late than never!
Have you seen this cover? The one where a woman is breastfeeding her 3 year old son? Yeah, I just saw this about 20 minutes ago. I have to say, I'm outraged!
I'm not mad because a woman is choosing to breastfeed, or that her son is 3 years old. I'm not even mad that a magazine is featuring breastfeeding on the cover, advocating that it's a good choice. The thing that gets me? In big, bold letters, is the caption "Are you mom enough?"
To answer your question, yes, yes I AM mom enough for my son. No I don't breastfeed. We don't co-sleep. I don't baby wear. I struggled every single day for four months, attempting to be successful at breastfeeding my newborn baby. I dealt with bleeding, a 3 month long case of thrush, a bad latch, several visits with a certified lactation consultant, breastfeeding support groups, etc. You name it, I probably did it. The only reason I stopped is because it got to the point that his reflux was getting worse, and the only thing that made it better was the switch to formula.
So for anybody to even question if I'm "mom enough" because we weren't successful for 3 years makes my blood boil. This war has got to stop! I'm possibly one of the biggest breastfeeding advocates out there. I firmly believe that breast milk is the best form of nutrition for your baby... if it works! If you can't or won't breastfeed your baby, and you choose to go the route of formula feeding, I firmly believe that that is the best form of nutrition for your baby.
I will not be accused of not being a good enough mom because I didn't follow this rule or that one.
Not cool, Time, not cool.
